1st Lt. Togi to be Honored at Wentworth Memorial Service on Sunday, November 10th


TogiWentworth alumnus, First Lieutenant Jason P. Togi, was killed August 26, 2013 in Hasan Karez, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a roadside bomb.


On Sunday, November 10th, 1st Lt. Togi will be memorialized in a ceremony at Wentworth Military Academy and College in the Wentworth Memorial Chapel. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m.


1st Lt. Togi graduated from Wentworth Military Academy and College on May 22, 2010.


While attending Wentworth, Togi was a member of the junior college indoor track team, Wentworth Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, International Club, and attained a rank of Captain in the Corps of Cadets.


Togi received the U.S. Army SROTC marksmanship badge, Reserve Officer’s Association Award, and the National Defense Industrial Association SROTC Award.


Jason joined the U.S. Army on September 15, 2011. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on May 22, 2010 and was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas on October 18, 2012.


Togi was deployed to Afghanistan on July 4, 2013 as an engineer platoon leader in Charlie Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
