Commuter Student Scholarships
Wentworth will offer the following commuter scholarships for the 2016-2017 Academic Year:
The Wentworth “Plus” scholarship is awarded to students who are A Plus certified and have earned a 2.50 high school GPA. This scholarship is renewable for 4 semesters with a 3.00 GPA and successful completion of 24 credit hours during the academic year. This award is valued at up to $2,000 per year. The Wentworth “Plus” scholarship may be received in addition to federal and state grants and academic scholarships.
Dean’s Academic Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to students who have maintained an overall 2.50 GPA for all high school coursework or achieved at least a 17 on the ACT. The scholarship is worth an amount up to $1,000 each year. The student must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA for renewal and successfully complete at least 24 credit hours during the academic year. This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 semesters.
Wentworth Dual Enrollment Scholarship
Prospective students who have successfully completed at least 3 credit hours of dual enrollment coursework at Wentworth Military Academy & College will be awarded a one-time $500 scholarship for the following academic year.
Commuter Athletic Scholarships
Commuter students are encouraged to try out for any college sports teams. Commuter athletic scholarships range from $250.00 to $500.00 per year, depending on the sport and the team’s needs. Student must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA plus enroll for a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester. This award is renewable for 4 semesters.
* Incoming students must be admitted by July 1st to be eligible for non-competitive renewable scholarships. Scholarships may be awarded after July 1st on a competitive basis if funding is available.
* Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid no later than July 15th for Fall semester or December 15th for Spring Semester.
* To be eligible for scholarships, students must be seeking a degree from Wentworth.
* Scholarships are awarded only to students who are enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester (Unless otherwise stated) at Wentworth.
Residential College Scholarships
Cadet Academic Achievement Scholarship (non SROTC)
Incoming (domestic) college cadets may qualify for an academic scholarship based on their official high school transcript, or ACT/SAT score. For incoming college “transfer” students, the GPA from college coursework will be substituted for the high school GPA after a minimum of 15 hours of college credit is completed. Please contact Admissions for specific award amounts.
College Athletic Scholarship Program
Incoming college cadets who have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA are encouraged to try out for any college sports teams. Please complete the prospective athlete recruit form, and contact the specific coach for details.
Early Commission Program (ECP-SROTC)
The ECP program is tailored for those individuals who have already completed one of these three requirements: three (3) or more years of Junior ROTC, Leader’s Training Course (at Ft. Knox, KY) or Basic Training and/or AIT with the National Guard or Army Reserve. Applicants who meet these criteria are eligible for two different two-year scholarship opportunities: the Military Junior College Scholarship (MJC) or the Campus Based Scholarship. Recipients of the MJC scholarship will serve in a National Guard or Army Reserve Unit while enrolled in college, while Campus Based recipients do not serve in the National Guard or Army Reserve while enrolled.
