How long has it been since you’ve been back to the Wentworth homecoming? This year promises to be extraordinary, so mark your calendar and make your plans to come back for homecoming,October 3 – 6, 2013. We will be celebrating Norma Maring’s 80th birthday, and welcoming back ALL classes. Thanks to the involvement of a great homecoming committee, this year’s event will have some new and improved features.
New features include a 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday morning, and a birthday party for Norma on Friday night. Improved features include a much shorter program at the alumni banquet on Saturday evening, and big changes to the golf tournament promised by alumni director Al McCormick.
“We wanted to make this homecoming extra special, partially because it’s honoring Norma Maring, and partially because we just wanted to add some excitement to a format which has served us well over the years,” says Cheney Parrish, Associate Director of Alumni and Advancement. John Francis, Guy Harkness, Jim Wright , Dale Slunicko, DT Love and Daniel Britton have stepped up and really helped out with great ideas and solid planning.
The entire homecoming schedule can be found here and the secure online registration form is here . We even have a link for places to stay in the area. A list of those already registered is here. Of course, the best part of homecoming is catching up with old friends and meeting a few new ones. Because so many people are eager to celebrate Mrs. Maring’s birthday, we are anticipating at least twice as many of your classmates and cohorts to be flocking to campus. Please join the party; we would love to see you again.
