Falcon Program

A Tradition of Brilliance

Wentworth College is a collegiate institution that is one of five selected colleges in the United States to offer the United States Air Force Academy Falcon program. Upon completion of the year-long program, Wentworth Falcon cadets have been successful in meeting the requirements set forth by the Academy for admission. For multiple consecutive years, Wentworth Falcons have met the US Air Force requirements for acceptance to the Academy. The Falcon program at Wentworth College is a total immersion into military training, challenging academics and character development, all of which provide a competitive edge that is essential to prepare themselves to become at cadet at the Air Force Academy.

Academics

The Wentworth Falcon program is designed to enhance academic challenges through an advanced curriculum that offers courses in chemistry, physics, upper-level math, English composition with an emphasis in writing and reading comprehension, and provides critical thinking opportunities. The instructors are dedicated and committed to providing daily academic challenges and individual attention to each Falcon cadet to ensure the cadet's highest intellectual potential is achieved. In order to prepare the Falcon cadet for acceptance into the Air Force Academy, each Falcon will be enrolled in an ACT/SAT preparatory course for first semester, and will take national tests in both areas for the purpose of improving previously attained scores in either the ACT or SAT. National tests are administered at Wentworth College, which is a national testing site. To add to the on-campus preparation, Falcons are provided the opportunity to visit the Air Force Academy and room with a previous Wentworth Falcon cadet, which provides them a first-hand experience of United States Air Force Academy life.

Military Leadership Training

The Falcons are part of a year-long military training program that will teach them how to wear a military uniform, interact with superior officers, and to allow for them to accept positions of leadership offered at the corps level. Each position of leadership is specifically based on the individual's potential and leadership abilities. A vigorous physical fitness program, administered by the Senior ROTC, is required as part of the military training, along with guided individual training to prepare the cadet to pass the physical training test required for acceptance to the Air Force Academy.

Character Development

The purpose of the Wentworth College Honor Code is to develop character in the areas of honesty, integrity, commitment and self-reliance. The Wentworth Honor Code reads, "I will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do." This honor code has the same basic concepts as United States Air Force Academy Honor Code.
