Wentworth Military Academy and College is accepting applications for a Accounts Payable Specialist.  The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for maintaining cost effective, well organized, professional, accurate, timely and friendly services for internal and external clients. This position maintains accurate payroll for all Wentworth employees through payroll subcontractor. Maintaining accurate and timely financial records is critical. Confidentiality is a must.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing accurate and timely receipt, posting and processing of all accounts payable and payroll.
  • Reviews all timesheets, PTO requests to ensure accurate payroll.
  • Responsible for handling cashier responsibilities including receipting payments, reconciling petty cash, and QM Daily deposits.
  • Interface with accounting outsourcing company to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial data, deposits, a/p etc.
  • Audits and reconciles credit card statements for the assigned users
  • Prepare for CFO and Comptroller weekly and monthly a/p aging reporting.
  • Prepare for CFO and Comptroller weekly a/p payment selection schedule and cash flow reporting.
  • Creates year end reports
  • Disburses petty cash and maintains accurate tracking
  • Responsible for monitoring and refilling the ATM machine located in Sellers Hall
  • Creates and maintains sound, campus-wide AP policies and procedures. Is responsible for communication and adherence of procedures.
  • Maintains postage machine. Runs associated reports.
  • Cross-trains with accounts receivable and financial aid functions, and serve as backup when need and to maintain federal financial aid funds.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned, serve on Academy committees and as cadet advisor in clubs/activities.
  • Prepares documentation and participates in audits as needed
  • Maintains Business Services office supplies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Associates degree (2 year) in Accounting or other financial program or certificate
  • Three – five years’ experience with accounts payable and financial processes
  • Experience with accounting computer software programs, proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Proven experience with details and confidentiality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for a Student Life Coordinator.

This position is a high energy, full time position responsible for organization and implementation of various educational, recreational and social programs for the students.  The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for student engagement initiatives to further develop personal, social, and emotional growth in order to promote retention and student success. This position requires weekend and evening availability to accommodate student schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create an atmosphere of student engagement through programming activities and fostering opportunities for student participation in campus life throughout both the academic and summer semesters.
  • Develop plans, programs, and activities that help students adapt to campus life and engage them with a purpose and reason to stay (retain) and complete their education (persist).
  • Plan, coordinate, market and execute educational, cultural, social and recreational activities and events–to include all required personnel and resources.
  • Engage the student community in all phases of activity and event planning and execution.
  • Conduct student interest surveys and focus groups to identify interests and potential growth areas for student life programs.
  • Promote and communicate each semester’s activities and events to all students, staff, and faculty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Wentworth Military Academy and College is immediately seeking applications for the position of full-time, TAC Officer.  TAC Officers are responsible for the safety, well-being, discipline, and personal development of individual boarding students comprising Wentworth’s Corps of Cadets.  TAC Officers supervise both male and female cadets, ensuring all comply with and develop under the Cadet Rules and Regulations and Wentworth’s Honor Code.  This position requires execution of Wentworth’s mission through positive role-modeling and constructive interaction with all students.  TACs are also responsible for non-classroom instruction of cadets in the areas of study skills, leadership, physical well-being, moral character, and self-discipline.

Overview of Responsibilities:

 SAFETY & SECURITY

  • Supervise proper conduct of the Corps of Cadets at on- and off-campus events
  • Become familiar with and execute Emergency Management Plans
  • Conduct Risk Assessments as necessary for various Cadet activities and make recommendations
  • Oversee and report the general maintenance and repair of assigned living areas
  • 24/7 presence when required to supervise special events and emergencies

HEALTH & WELFARE

  • Maintain 100% accountability of all assigned Cadets
  • Promote healthy life choices, proper personal hygiene, and responsible decision making.
  • Conduct daily room inspections
  • Coordinate with Infirmary on Cadet health issues and treatment plans
  • Ensure prompt response to parents’ questions, inquiries and concerns

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

  • Set a professional example in conduct, appearance, physical condition, bearing, and loyalty both on- and off-duty.
  • Provide instruction to cadets regarding Rules, Regulations, Policies, Standard Operating Procedures regarding expected standards of behavior and conduct.
  • Ensure Cadets maintain proper military bearing and appearance.
  • Teach leadership, character, values, safety and rules/regulations/policy classes as directed.
  • Foster a positive, supportive environment–enabling each Cadet’s growth, promoting teamwork, and discouraging profane or abusive language and attitudes.
  • Mentor cadets in the development and execution of individual leadership, time management, ethics, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Assess and track Cadet performance and potential in academics, leadership, physical well-being, moral character, and self-discipline; advise them on the development and employment of associated skills and abilities in those areas.
  • Provide advice and encouragement to those experiencing difficulty in the adjustment to a military environment.
  • Implement appropriate disciplinary action to maintain the good order and efficiency of the Corps of Cadets in accordance with academy policies, procedures and regulations.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Maintain up-to-date Cadet files and Cadet Record Briefs on all Cadets.
  • Ensure company maintains duty rosters and performs assigned duties as required
  • Ensure fairness and accuracy in award recommendations, promotions, adverse actions and leadership positions.
  • Prepare individual Cadet Assessment Forms to evaluate their progress/performance.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education coursework and relevant military experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervisory positions.
  • Working knowledge of management and leadership theory and principles.
  • Prior successful work experience with adolescents and young adults in a direct supervisory capacity and/or program manager of programs associated with youth education, recreation, athletics or development.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; critical thinking; problem solving, organizational management, conflict resolution and sound judgment.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and community-building.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment, e.g. multi-line telephone, photocopier, personal computer.
  • Be in good physical condition: able to walk extended distances, climb stairs, participate in selected Corps actives requiring physical conditioning, and deal with prolonged stress.
  • Job may require considerable repetitive hand and wrist movement, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Possess or be able to obtain Missouri driver’s license and a commercial driver’s license with school bus endorsement. Maintain driving/licensing proficiency on selected school owned vehicles.
  • Ability to work varied schedules in all weather conditions on short notice.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend shifts.

Preferred Qualifications Include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in leadership, management, education, organizational studies, human development, psychology, sociology or counseling.
  • Service in a uniformed military service with promotion to Senior Noncommissioned Officer (E-7) level or above.

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for a part-time Administrative assistant for the Athletic Department. Work hours are approximately 10 – 12 hours per week beginning October 1, 2016 through May 1, 2017. This position will report directly to the Athletic Director.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and courteous service
  • Assist coaches in securing transportation
  • Assure required game day personnel are lined up and have pay ready
  • Answer phone and sort mail

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for a part-time driver. This position reports to the Commandant’s office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safe transportion of students, faculty, and staff to WMA events
  • Transports students to and from airport as scheduled
  • Maintains condition of vehicles neat and clean order. Inspects the vehicles before and after each trip and disposes of any trash accumulation.
  • Maintains the vehicle and inhabitants in a respectiful manner.
  • May be called within short notice. (flexiable schedule)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • MO drivers license, Class B CDL license
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Able to physically operate school bus, van, or car.
  • Clean Driving record and be able to pass Drug/Acholol testing.
