Admissions Marketing/Counselor

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for an Admissions Marketing/Counselor. This position is responsible for the marketing of recruiting efforts.  This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and is available immediately.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the recruitment of students to Wentworth Military Academy and College through marketing efforts and social media.
  • Assist other Admissions Office staff with recruiting and marketing efforts to achieve institutional and department goals, including excellent customer service to prospective students.
  • Maintain the Wentworth web site with the latest pictures, stories, etc This may include other social media portals to seek and cultivate qualified prospective students
  • Prepare marketing materials in support of recruitment.
  • Meet enrollment goals through activities such as conducting on-campus tours, attending enrollment fairs, and scheduled visitations
  • Assist in retention goals by building and maintaining relationships with recruits
  • Other duties as assigned, including service on Wentworth committees
  • Willingness to work varied schedule that includes weekends and evenings Overnight travel will be required, particularly in the spring and fall (approx. 6 – 8 weeks)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR a combination of 60 hours post-secondary coursework and relevant professional work experience
  • Proven experience in Sales and/or Marketing.
  • Proven social media experience (web page maintenance, twitter, facebook, etc)
  • Must be goal oriented and able to take initiative
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion and occasional travel.
  • Must work well both independently as well as a team member
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: 

  • Prior work experience in an education setting, recruiting; preferably in Admissions.
  • Prior work experience with advertising, or sales environment

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Competition Coordinator/Instructor. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by NJCAA Region 16, USCAA, MSHAA, and other governing athletic institutions. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach / Competition Coordinator / Instructor at Wentworth Military Academy is responsible for planning and directing the recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student athletes, along with fiscal program management.  Duties will also include Game Management for all collegiate athletics as well as instruction of courses assigned by the College Dean.  Frequent nights and week-end work and in-season and out-season travel required. This position reports to Director of Athletics.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Director of Athletics in setting goals and objectives for the Women’s Basketball program in a manner consistent with Wentworth’s and the department’s strategic plan.
  • Coordinates with Sports media to produce game day programs for athletic contest, coordinating the collection of pertinent data (hometown, height, weight, position, class year, similar data of opposing players, etc.).
  • Manage athletic events including official assignments and confirmations, game management, opponent confirmations and scheduling as well as supervising game staff.

  • Instruction of course as assigned by Academic Dean.
  • Coordinates the effective use of athletic department vehicles with the campus coordinator of transportation. Will be required to obtain CDL license.
  • Oversees team practice schedules and secures appropriate off-site practice facilities when necessary. Monitors and documents practice activities in compliance with NJCAA, USCAA and MSHAA regulations.
  • Direct assigned Assistant Coaches in the overall planning and execution of the intercollegiate women’s basketball program.
  • Recruit quality prospective student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
  • Monitor academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.
  • Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program.
  • Coach team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate game techniques.
  • Develop and implement game strategy and position assignments.
  • Oversee the strength and conditioning programs for student athletes.
  • Manage all operational, fiscal, and administrative activities for the specific sports program.
  • Promote the athletic program and specific sport through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.
  • Ensure adherence to all Association, Conference, and Academy rules by athletes and supporting staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3-5 years coaching experience in College sports or equivalent role within a professional sports organization
  • Have CDL license or ability to obtain license immediately after hire
  • Proven knowledge of NJCAA Region 16, USCAA, MSHAA, regulations
  • Proven experience in athletic event planning and execution

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Master’s degree
  • Coaching experience at college level

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking applications for Camp Lead Counselors.  The counselors are responsible for the safety, well-being, and supervision of cadets attending Camp Lead. Counselors will maintain good order and discipline among all assigned cadets at all times. Certain counselors will be assigned additional duties working with JROTC during the Cadet Leadership Camp.  One counselor will be designated the Camp Lead Commander. These positions are contractual (full time, temporary). Room and board plus salary is provided for the duration of this position.  Estimated dates are June 20 – July 29, 2017.  This position reports to the Deputy Commandant/Commandant of Cadets.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the safety, security and 100% accountability of assigned cadets
  • Act as a squad mentor–ensuring the training, health, welfare, morale, and proper conduct of assigned cadets
  • Enforce all rules and regulations while modeling positive and constructive behavior
  • Maintain assigned equipment, uniforms and barracks
  • Solve problems effectively
  • Keep Commandant’s Office informed of complaints and misconduct
  • Present a professional appearance at all times
  • Assist in the planning, execution and supervision of activities and ceremonies
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must pass drug/alcohol test
  • Ability to react calmly and efficient in emergency situations
  • Ability to tie basic knots, work outside, lift heavy objects, instruct drill and ceremony
  • Be a student in good standing
  • Required to reside on campus during the term of employment
  • Required to attend First Aid and Life Guard certification (funded by WMAC)

Wentworth Military Academy and College is seeking a student in good standing academically, to mentor/teach students during set study schedules in various subjects. (English) Candidate will monitor students as they work on their assignments and will provide guidance. Lab mentor will also help develop each student’s critical and creative thinking while promoting academic growth.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Yearbook Assistant is responsible for assisting the Yearbook Coordinator with the completion of the yearbook. This may involve page layout, writing, proof reading, and checking accuracy. Compensation for this position is minimum wage.
