Wentworth Graduate Promotes to Major General

Jason Evans promotionJason T. Evans, a 1981 graduate of Wentworth Military Academy and College, was promoted to Army Major General July 3, 2015 at a ceremony in Bellevue, NE. The two-star general has served in command and staff positions in the United States, Italy, Somalia, Kosovo, Germany, and Iraq.

MG Evans is a graduate of the Adjutant General’s Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Staff Services School, Command and General Staff College, the Army Resource Management Course, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Bellevue University and holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration and National Resource Strategy.

MG Evans’ awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Services Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Parachutist Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge.

MG Evans currently serves as Director of Military Personnel Management, Deputy Chief of Staff, Army G-1 in Washington, D.C. He and his wife, Machelle, have three children and four grandchildren.
